Two young people get lost in the woods and ask directions from a group of drunken picnickers. The drunks knock out the boy and rape the girl. The couple had only met that morning by a lake, and had their first kiss as they hid from the sudden rain. And now, as he sits over her violated naked body, his hatred for the rapists and compassion for the girl gradually turn into animal lust. Mironov, still an acting student, stars as the boy in this adaptation of a short story by Leonid Andreyev.
