The "Cities of Love" series continues in Moscow. After falling in love with Paris and New York, now anyone can try falling in love with the Russian capital.

The annual Russian movie festival Kinotaur has opened in the southern city of Sochi with a romantic comedy Moscow, I Love You! . The collection of 18 five-minute novelettes filmed in different genres by various directors unites around the theme of Moscow. Yegor Konchalovsky, Georgy Natanson, Alla Surikova, Artyom Mikhalkov and many others have made each novelette a signature.

The plot of each novelette is a significant memorable moment of the Russian capital's life. Like this collection's predecessors, it's about human relations, love, meetings, breakups, and so on. But the main character uniting the novelettes is the city itself.

Director Yegor Konchalovsky said at a press conference on Monday that he had been asked to participate in a Paris, I Love You episode, "but it didn't work out." That's when he thought, "why not make a project like this in Moscow?"

"Hundreds of scripts passed through our hands. To our surprise, major Russian directors have no experience in the short-subject genre, and it turned out hard for them to create a distinct five-minute film. Some surprised me with their inability to make one. The selection process was intense. When we despaired of receiving something decent from the masters, we decided to invite directors who have only recently made themselves known," Konchalovsky said.

Eventually the project gathered several generations of filmmakers aged 30 to 90, which gives another angle to the perception of the city's spirit and the film as a whole. After two years of work, the filming is done and out there for us to judge.

Konchalovsky believes that "living in Moscow, we feel the spirit of Paris better than the Parisians. Perhaps a Parisian watching our film will be able to feel the spirit of Moscow."
