The Golden Mask is like the Oscars for Russian theater, only you get to see all the shows live before the awards are divvied out. This year film star Yevgeny Mironov took out Best Male Role for Gospoda Golovlyovy (The Golovyovs) at the MKhAT; while, bizarrely, same-named film actress Maria Mironova snapped up Best Female Role for Fedra. Zolotoi kolos (Phaedra: The Golden Colossus) at the Theater of Nations. Best show went to the production of Moliere's Le Malade Imaginaire at the Maly Theater.
